I just ran in to sit down for a second. I had to assemble my new table saw today and (fingers crossed) so far, so good. I even put the safety guard over the blade so I'm all "safety girl" now.
I'm not sure my purchase warrants new too envy. Here's why....after MUCH research and deliberation, I headed back to Sears to get the same Craftsman 10" Portable that I just quit on me after running it into the ground every day for two years. I went with the Craftsman because I knew I could put it together quickly and it didn't cost an arm and a leg.
I just recently got smart and realized that I have 10 Owyn Toy Boxes to build between now and the end of July....so why not have a CNC shop make the major cuts for me? So it'll cut down on how much I have to cut myself in my crappy garage. I'll do everything else, and build the other models, on my brand spankin' new/exactly the same table saw.
I have new tool envy because my table saw is, I think, older than I am. It's a ten-inch Craftsman as well, BTW, but it belonged to my dad, and he gave it to me when he got a new one. It still works, so even though the fence isn't always parallel to the blade, I haven't been able to justify replacement yet.
