I've been thinking about cousins to the Bertie Box. Other abstract modern, shapes that work well as lids that I can make into bodies of animals, insects, what not.
Scott was drawing a few the other night -- he has the drawing talent in the family -- and we came up with a few ideas.
Anyone care to comment on these ideas or have any that you'd love to see made into a toy box?
I'd love to know what you think!
- Owl
- Spider
- Frog

Squirrels are dynamite. Love the new toybox.
How about an Octopus?
Thanks, Lucys Place and Anna Bee! I love both of your suggestions.

Hedgehogs???I think that they are fab!
Ladybugs??
I love your furniture

I'm partial to the frog idea ... also have a peculiar affinity towards the turtle and hippo.
In thinking in terms of shape, I think the frog would work great. He could have "spots" that would in fact be the finger holes, much like Bertie's wing is.
In terms of just what animals would be fun, I agree a squirrel would be great! Or a ladybug, which could actually work with the spots as well...
Just some thoughts...
We cannot wait for our Owyn toybox and will certainly be back for Bertie or perhaps a Bertie cousin! =)
I think a frog would be so cute and look great with Bertie. Also I think a snail would be cute. Have a great week!
Thanks so much for all your wonderful suggestions!! I'm excited to build a few cousins when the production schedule allows. I'll be printing out this page of comments and taking it to the garage, that's for sure!
Owl art seems to be a big seller these days. Love your designs!

Hey, it's your sister (too lazy to create and account). Of course we love the frog idea. Next, you could do an alligator and send it to Jon & Kate Plus 8; one of their girls loves alligators. Then, it's airtime (environmentally friendly means a ton to Kate) and poof...Mod Mom frenzie sweeps the nation. Just a thought.
Ooh, I like ponderingponteuf's hedgehog idea. Owls do seem to sell well lately too.
