That is fantastic. I've been wondering; is the veneer applied to the surface, or is it inset?
Because I've been thinking of getting into veneer work, but I've been putting it off because I'm intimidated by the prospect of trying to inset it. But if I get get results this good looking with just surface mounting, I might have to start playing with it.
Thanks guys! Mike, it is a veneer applique -- not inset. Looks good, though, eh?
I'm not brave enough to try an inset yet. I get my veneer from Rockler - pressure sensitive veneer. Then I hand draw and hand cut the shape and apply after I've applied a sealer to the wood.
love it!

Looks fantastic. The walnut stain gives it a totally different look. Kinda reminds me of a hi-fi unit from my younger days. ;-)
